Why do transvestites like dressing like women?

I am going to be starting a new blog shortly about all things Transvestite and crossdressing. Why you ask? Why not!

I used to know a transvestite many years ago. He was a very attractive heterosexual male who liked dressing as a woman now and then. He had long ebony hair, dark brown eyes and was fairly petite for a guy so he actually made a fairly pretty transvestite and looked quite a lot like a woman.

That is when he had the help of a woman to dress!

I note most transvestite men (or crossdressers) turn to other transvestite men for advice on dressing like a woman, now forgive me chaps but that really is a case of the blind leading the blind! It’s not THAT often I see a transvestite who looks like a real woman as oppose to a toned down drag queen.

Men should always get advice about all things women from a woman, straight from the horses mouth so to speak! This is how it was for my pal. He came around one evening (planned) and me and my pal Bo did his hair and makeup. He brought his own clothes. A curious selection!

He had a black leather skirt (short), boob tube top, fish net tights and very high heels. This is a fairly traditional transvestite get up for a young male trying to emulate a young woman.

I have though also seen the other side of the spectrum. When I was hairdressing a young man came in dressed as a very dowdy older female. I felt more sorry for his poor dress sense than his curious state, and it was curious to me at that time as I was just 16yrs old.

Back to my ebony haired pal. After the dress up session, I saw him a few times but then one day he appeared out in public sporting a rather long beard. I saw this as a signal that perhaps his transvestite days were behind him. But I never found out!

Anyway, I stumbled across an article on the web today and it said a curious thing. It said that men like to dress as women often as they like women and wish to emulate them, be them. I actually knew someone who went all out once to look like a woman physically but stopped short of wearing woman’s clothes. Neither did he ever show any interest in doing so, so he wasn’t in fact a transvestite…not an out of the closet one anyway!

But what he did do was wax his legs,chest, have his nails manicured, his eyebrows shaped etc. He did tell me at the time that he did this as he wanted to look like a girl because he liked girls but that never made much sense to me at the time.

But I suppose it makes a kind of sense when you consider how some people (not all) emulate their favourite celebrity. Take Chanelle Hayes (BB8 fame) and the way she does everything she can to look like Posh Spice. She wears the same clothes, dies her hair the same colour etc. Chanelle will never ever be Victoria Beckham but she still wants to be her. Somewhere I guess in some little boys minds begins a hero worship state that fixates on wanting to look like their idol. Maybe initially that idol is a celeb but it could also be wanting to look like mum or big sis.

This guy I mentioned, had a very attractive big sister and she had a ton of attention, so I think somewhere in my pals mind, he figured he could get that same attention if he looked like her.

Now a man trying to dress like a woman confuses us straight dressing types, yet we don’t think it all that odd when people like Chanelle go to huge extremes to look like someone else. I guess there is a type of acceptance for same sex look a likes.

Anyway bearing all this mind, I say give the guys a break and let’s teach them how to do it properly! If you are a man and you are going to dress like a girl do it right.
