I came across this Rapex product via a blog and went hunting for the source!

Basically this is a device shaped like a condom that fits inside a woman’s vagina.
If a penis is later inserted into the vagina , the device attaches itself to the penis causing pain and once the penis is withdrawn so is the device which can then only be removed by a physician!

The site developing this product says this:

“Rapex is a new product that was developed to empower women to defend themselves against rapists. Rapex is a device used by women to prevent rape and to identify the rapist. The Rapex prototype was launched on 31 August 2005, at Kleinmond, Cape Province, South Africa.

The Rapex Team is in the process of compiling a tender document in order to source the most suitable investors/manufacturers/distributors globally. “

In other words, I don’t think this product is being distributed yet.

Is it legal, is it a good idea, what do you think?

Wow that looks like great news… Will that sort out that terrible social problem? I don’t think so, but I am sure it can reduce it somehow…

It will surely reduce the crime rate..

I am not sure if this product will ever hit the shelves, it was first written about a few years ago and I can’t find a stockist.

As a man, all I can say is OUCH!

Well, as long as men aren’t playing the rape game, then they shouldn’t have anything to worry about, right?

as long as the woman isn’t playing games.

It sounds as if it might be a rather cumbersome device and something that you wouldn’t want there all the time. Does a woman have to predict when she is more likely to be raped and fit it on those occasions?

I need to do some more research on this as from what I can tell it’s not on the shelves and it would be interesting to find out why.

It’s a sad commentary about how things are today. But if this does come out, I predict the counts of sodomy rape will go up.

crumbs, you could be right, maybe this is why it hasn’t hit the shelves.
