Called ‘are we born heterosexual?’

Apparently the latest word from the science community is that our sexual preference is dictated by hormones.

What do you think?

Here are some quotes from the debate thread at blogcatalog, join in there or here!

“What does it matter whether it develops in the womb or in puberty? Science has shown that there are physiological differences between heterosexuals and homosexuals, and that pretty much proves it isn’t a choice. People who claim it’s a choice are the ones who raise this question, for if it is not nature it can be changed. This is ignorant, because nurture becomes nature. Traumatic experiences can change how someone behaves years down the road, so why would nontraumatic experiences be any different?”

“I don’t know. But I know is that I could go either way. For me, is that heterosexual if I have Kleinfelter’s Syndrome and each side acts as the heterosexual opposite? I haven’t the slightest idea. Perhaps by then, what defines as “heterosexual” disappears in actual physical ambiguities.”

“Are we born greedy and self-centered, or does our society teach us this? Are we born violent, carnivorous, killers? Are we born without ethics and morals, and society has to drill them into us at church, school, court?

These things bother me more than anyone’s sexuality..

“Did the Creator create homosexuality? evil? homicide? religious persecution?”good questions.. the creator either created all the evil as well or we’re talking about a different creator..!ps - bad women have tried to turn me the other way, but I’m still into them, regardless.. men are ugly, smelly, hairy - “nine hairs short of gorillas”! as Lewis Black said.. women are mothers, sisters, lovers - soft, cuddly, warm, comforting, giving, smell nice - the big question is WHY do they like men? lol…I think, like Dr. Strangelove, we need a healthier ratio of females to men, “say 10 to 1, and they will be chosen for their breeding characteristics!” — that was just plain HILARIOUS.. a classic comedy”

I def think homosexuality is not a choice…it may require an acceptance but I believe the feelings of attraction come from ones physiological make up.
