It is often the case that young men in their early twenties are attracted to older women and young women of that age range quite like the older man. Why is this? I would speculate that it has much to do with the age that men and women reach their sexual peak.
Men are supposed to peak early twenties and women early thirties so from that point of view, it makes sense that these two age ranges are suited to each other.
If it is just a sexual relationship then it can suit them both quite well. Young men preferring the older more experienced, less nervous woman and the older woman enjoying the attentions of a younger male.
But what about young women and older men? Young women may like older men for a few reasons: Wanting a father figure - someone who can be decisive, nurturing and perhaps has his own home, a business, money etc.
Being drawn to the mature male in preference to boys their own age who are perhaps a few years behind them in maturity despite being technically the same age. Money - the older male may be able to take them to places a younger male (possibly a student) may not be able to.
Why are men attracted to young women? A young female might be easier to manage than an older, wiser one, and of course the younger one may be quite glamorous and look good on his arm. A welcome ego boost and a reflection of youth forgotten.
It is interesting though that society still frowns upon older women with younger men yet it has always been fairly acceptable for younger women to date older men. Perhaps this has less to do with sexual bias though and more to do with the practical issue of reproduction. Men can remain fertile and father children pretty much until they die whereas a woman has a limit to her fertility.
So an older woman could be restrictive in terms of the younger man having his own children whereas the young woman could go on to have children with her older male partner. Have you dated a toy boy or been a sugar daddy?
