Why good grammar doesn’t sell good

Many novice copywriters and clients believe that sales copy should be grammatically correct…wrong!

The point of sales copy is to sell products/services not to create an outstanding piece of literature.

Best selling copy is written in conversational tone whereby the style speaks to ‘you’ the reader as oppose to speaking at you.

If you want to sell more with your copy, write as though you are talking to the client as oppose to writing for them. You are a sales person, how do you say it?

Do you say:

‘If you require further details or more information, contact me here”

when a client visits your shop

Or do you say

‘If you need any help just ask’

I’m off to amend some copy ;)
