Beauty hurts, I burned my bum!

In Uncategorized on 21/05/2009 at 10:23 am

A friend of mine recently emailed a hilarious true story of a woman who had a rather unfortunate accident while waxing her bikini line. Her leg was propped up on the loo, while she carefully applied the wax and strip but when she removed the strip, the wax was nowhere to be seen. Some how it had slid down past her bikini line. It had also dried.

Her, what does Ali G call it- punani? was sealed shut, as was her rear exit!
A frantic phone call to her best friend (who recommended she call the fire brigade) and several ‘hair raising’ removal attempts later she eventually freed herself.

Anyway this reminded me of a rather unfortunate incident that happened to me.

I sat down on my bed and felt a ‘prickly’ sensation on my bare bottom. I was getting ready to go out, so was naked. I thought I’d sat on my hairbrush so didn’t immediately get up, but then the prickle became a burning and I realized I had in fact sat on my very hot curling tongs! I had a 4inch brand on my butt!

So, I do what any sensible person does in this situation, and I get a bowl of cold water to sit in. Just as I do this I hear a car pull up outside. I look out the window and see my flat mate arriving with her student friends. I had just about enough time to get dressed when they walked in.

I was too embarrassed to say I’d burned my bum and needed immediate emergency medical attention, so I suffered through their entire visit. When they went and for several weeks afterwards my flat mate had to assist in giving me a progress report on my burned bum, as I could not see it myself!

Life!

ouch!

The Egg and Sperm Race

In Uncategorized on 20/05/2009 at 9:22 pm

In today’s modern world, with so much equality for men and women and the rise of feminism, IT girls and ladette culture women are more likely now to hop into bed with a man they just met a few hours ago, than they ever would or could before.

This is not all women of course but for those highly sexed, free thinking women, this might be quite acceptable behaviour and if men can do it and not be labeled as a ‘slag’ why can’t women?

Why do men (and women) still view women who behave this way as ‘easy’?

Obvious and immediate answers are that they should have more respect for themselves and their bodies. But then this could apply to the men too, but it doesn’t does it? Men can have numerous sexual partners and yet they are labeled stud and still the women compete for their attention. No one competes for the attention of ‘easy’ women.

So why despite the advance of women as equals is it still the case that when it comes to being equal partners in matters of sex, with equal ‘stud’ status the balance is still very much in favour of the men?

I believe I have an answer. Could it be quite simply that if we go back to basics and look at this attitude from a survival point of view, on a deep subconscious level men quite simply do not want their sperm competing with the sperm of others for that egg!

Men are designed so to speak to sow their seed as far and wide as possible whereas women are supposed to choose a mate carefully in order to produce fine offspring. So on this very basic level it makes sense for women to behave with caution in matters of sex, and for men to behave with wild abandon. Not that I approve of this mind you – but it seems to be the case.

This ‘survival of the fittest’ instinct could be what drives the attitude that women who sleep around are easy yet men who sleep around are studs. We just don’t realise it. But even upon realising it, there is little we can do, as this ‘attitude’ towards the sexes and sex appears to be innate!

The Truth about Large Penises!

In Dating Tips, Funny, Personal stories- naughty on 19/05/2009 at 8:19 am

The subject of penis size once came up (no pun intended) on a science forum, and the question was ‘why does the size of men’s penises vary?‘

My obvious answer to this was that, it was to accommodate the fact that the size of women’s vagina’s vary. One size foot does not fit all size shoes!

My answer was disputed on the grounds that a humble duck has one of the largest penis’s in relation to it’s body size of any other animal. A whopping 42.5cm, nearly half a metre in length! see HERE for more details.

The scientists argument was that this duck penis could not possibly have been designed for a duck vagina of equivalent length. BUT I did some research and found that indeed this penis was a perfect design for it’s mate who’s interior cavity was twisted and coiled.

So chaps, those of you who desire nice tight ***** are biologically only destined to have one if you have a nice small ****. You larger chaps are similarly intended for the larger, more spacious accommodation.

Advertising Tricks of The Trade

In copywriting advice on 15/05/2009 at 1:56 pm

  • Ads that appear on the right side of a newspaper are more likely to be read than if they are placed on the left side.
  • Ads written with blue text on a yellow background are more visible than any other colour combination. So if you’re advertising in a directory with a small ad, colours matter.
  • The word ‘NEW’ is a magic word that attracts buyers like bees to honey which is why soap powder manufacturers and companies like them are always releasing ‘NEW and Improved’ products. They have to be the ‘next best thing’.

Other areas that need consideration are your target market. Promotion materials should be written for the intended audience, rather than trying to have global appeal.

These are a just a few things someone who sells via words knows and if you don’t know this and more then you are losing money through ineffective copy.

Learn the secret language of the layman and you’ll sell more guaranteed!

In Blogging advice, Blogging for beginners, copywriting advice on 12/05/2009 at 6:23 pm

One of the biggest mistakes marketers who sell technical products make is that they litter the sales copy with techno-babble.

Techo - babble is lingo and terminology that only an expert in the field will understand, leaving the novices wondering what language they’re reading!

Selling Internet secrets to technophobe Jo via copy littered with techno-babble isn’t going to work as they don’t know what you are selling or what it can do for them.

I don’t buy products that tell me what I already know and I don’t buy products that blind me with techno-babble which pretty much ALL the ‘how to market yourself better on the internet’ sales ads do.

Technophobes won’t read a page for long when they can’t understand the terminology.

I started a site a while back for technophobes where I (as a technophobe) broke things down into very basic language so that myself and my reader could understand how to do things creatively on a website/blog and it was very popular as there is a great need for this simplification in the world of the ‘web’.

If you as a marketer can learn the not so secret language of the layman you will sell more technical products guaranteed as the people that stand to benefit most are the ‘laymen’ as the experts are already doing it for themselves. Not always of course, but mostly.

I say grab the great untapped market of the technophobe and start selling!

If you can’t break down your copy into layman’s terms then hire me to do it for you, I am the master layman Wink

What are keywords and FREE keyword tools (SEO TIP)

In copywriting advice on 12/05/2009 at 9:33 am

If you are writing articles on the Internet or website content you may have seen people mentioning the value of ‘keywords’ but never properly understood what was meant.

Either this or you write away and never give factors that influence searchengines a thought.

If you do write on the web for any purpose and you want searchengines to find your content so that your readers can then find you, you can benefit from learning about & using keywords.

What are keywords?

Keywords are words or phrases that writers place in their articles or blogs (content) that are relevant to the topic but also might be terms which people enter into search engines with high frequency.

In other words, the aim of keywords is to be matched with what a lot of people are looking for and then when Google throws up a list of results you might be in the top few pages of Google, if not the first page of Google!

The better the keywords the more likely this will be the case.

A great free keyword tool is this one from wordbot http://www.wordpot.com/Default.aspx

When you enter a word in their tool bar, one that relates to your topic/product wordbot will give you a list of Google’s most popular keyword phrases and place them in order of popularity.

Keyword tools are a must for any writer who wants to SEO their content and increase/improve their Google page rank.

WARNING
Some people go utterly bonkers with keywords and while it may read well to searchbots it doesn’t read well to a human.

You can have thousands of hits to your website through Google referred traffic but it doesn’t mean diddly squat if your traffic sees your horrible content and clicks away from your site.

I would use no more than three duplicate keyword phrases in any 500 article.

Keyword phrases in titles is useful but add a unique spin tail end or start to grab both human and Google bot attention.

Good luck

Blogging for Beginners - What to put on your blog page

In Blogging for beginners on 11/05/2009 at 2:22 pm

These are my recommended top 8 essential elements to include on your blog page.

Title
Make the title as catchy and relevant to your blog content as possible. Consider what people may be searching for and use words that will help the search engine identify your blog as having the necessary content.

Author Profile:
As with a book, readers like to know a little bit about the author. Write a few short lines about yourself to give a brief overview. I would advise against giving out any details that can allow people to trace you to your home address, such as a real name etc. I would recommend choosing a pseudonym when you begin blogging and stick to that.

Author Photo
You may wish to add to the personal touch. I myself use a photo that while recent would not easily identify me if out and about. It is my intention to be recognized on the Internet only and not while out shopping with the kids!

Blog Introduction
Let your readers know what the blog is about and what your blogs aim is. Again this is no different to what an author may do with a book, except the introduction for a blog should be considerably shorter, perhaps no longer than 4 short paragraphs.

Categories and table of contents
With blogs you tend to only display a few at a time (perhaps 8) and as new posts push old posts further down the line (and off front page) having a table of contents with posts separated into categories is a great way for readers to be able find other posts they may be interested in. Also you could have a section, which highlights your most popular commented upon posts.

Links
Swapping blog site addresses (links/URL’s) with other bloggers and displaying them on your blog could help improve your search engine ranking but only if the linked blogs are similar topics to yours.

Blog posts – blog content

Your blog is not a blog without content! My advice would be to write about what you know.

Reference sources properly with links. Read up on copyright law and do not use images or directly copy text without seeking permission of the author or artist or referring to their terms of use, which should be displayed on their web/blog pages. If there is no copyright message, assume NO copying is allowed with their prior permission.

Copyright message
Some writers on the Internet will prohibit all copying without seeking prior permission. I am one such writer. But others may be happy to share their work as long as you clearly credit the work to them and provide a link back to their site. Details of their restrictions and uses are usually displayed somewhere on their blog. Decide for yourself whether you allow or prohibit copying and then detail these terms accordingly on your blog.

Marketing Strategies For Blogs & Websites - network

In Blogging for beginners on 11/05/2009 at 1:59 pm

My Top Ten Tips for increasing Traffic to your blog are as follows, they may not be the industry standard but they are some methods I have found helpful.

1. Register with blogger communities:

Problogs
BlogCatalog
MyBlogLog
Blogsrecord
blogCave

ADD every new member as your friend You will always be on their front page as one of their first friends which means you get seen when people visit their profile and join their community(same reason). They are likely to reciprocate too and again your blog then gets exposure on their blog.

Join all the top communities and new communities. (Same reason as above)

Join a few groups on there and post on the forum and write nice little extracts from your blog with links.

2. Comment on others blogs and make sure your user name links back to your blog. Have a user-friendly pic up that makes people want to visit your profile.

3. Visit the blogs of your fellow bloggers on these communities as then YOUR blog may appear on their blog via the ‘recent viewer’ widget.

4. Get a feedjit widget (see my blog as sample) so you can see where your visitors were referred from and can tell what works and what doesn’t re traffic boost. I find Blog Directory, Social Network, Blog Search Engine, Blog Sites//BlogDumps great for traffic and I am presently their top referrer too.

5. Add articles to this site www.searchwarp.com they have great alexa ranking and the articles get good exposure. One of mine was a featured article on their front page recently -How to get girls to like you.

If you post good content regularly you may get into the top 100 featured authors and then when you post an article your name shows on front page top of the list. I am in top 100 and am 4th most popular author. This site let’s you see where your traffic comes from too, how many search engine and external referrers and what keywords were used to locate your article.

6. Join www.problogs.com as there are really GREAT things planned for future of this site. Get on board NOW while it is fairly quiet. Soon there will be adsense revenue share. The Spam and abusive comments will be edited out by human editors etc. And again lot of exposure for your work and links back to your website. Always good to join new Blogger communities as you get to know the owner and build a good relationship etc.

7.Join forums where the users may be interested in your blog. Have blog in your signature. Post regularly. Again pick interesting avatar. Myspace is great for getting visitors as a result of forum posting. I used to get 100 a day when I posted just one comment. I can’t post now due to a glitch, but I still get 100 from subscribers and …who knows how they find me??

8. Join facebook, join a few groups, post a picture and link to your blog. Others can’t be bothered so your pic may be up there ages. Mine is and I get several visitors from face book when all I did was post a pic with a link couple of weeks ago.

9. There is www.blogrush.com though not much traffic yet from there for me. See my site re blogrush widget.

10. Links BUT only if they relate to your type of blog or it can (so I have been told) have adverse affect.

And so much more, but this will keep you busy for a while!

Good luck!

Ps. It goes without saying that you NEED good content. Without that people won’t re visit your blog. Also, you need eye catching titles to entice the reader to move from your blog ‘feed’ to your blog site!

Register with www.feedburn.com and www.Technorati.com

I have just found an excellent site ‘www.gooddocuments.com’ with many articles on it relating to the very specific techniques required for writing for the web. You can check out a summary list of the articles here but I reccomend you visit the site by Clicking HERE to view the full documents.

Articles listed at that site include:

(list from site)Why you should:

“write links that don’t have to be followed
Use heads, subheads, and summaries
Write newspaper style
Use lists
Be concise
Provide detail
Use typography and layout for skimming
Use screen designs, not paper designs
Use maps
Distinguish different types of pages
Place page elements carefully
Pay attention to what is “above the scroll”
Provide guidance on where to go
Know your audience and their needs
How much goes in one page?
Test new designs
When (and how) to use frames”

An excellent resource.

What is a Blog

In Blogging for beginners on 10/05/2009 at 10:35 pm

I am often asked by friends ‘what is a blog?‘ so I have written this post to link them in and let them know what blogging is all about.

There are many definitions of ‘what is a blog’ on the Internet, but they all tend to be technological, so I will provide my own definition that fellow technophobes can understand. If any regular bloggers disagree with this definition or can elaborate more please do so via comments.

I would say a blog is a cross between a website, magazine and a diary.

Website:
Because it looks like one
Magazine:
Blogs contain entertaining and interesting content that readers around the world can enjoy.
Diary:
A blog does not just contain a single piece of information. The articles appear ongoingly, and appear in reverse chronological order. That is, the most recent blog post appears first with later ones as you scroll further down the page.

So who blogs and why?

Anyone who can use a keyboard can start a blog, children as young as 12 are even doing it and with great success too.

You don’t need to be a literary genius or have a degree in English language. As long as you can tap out a few words you can start your own blog. It can be like an online journal where you express your thoughts, share a hobby you enjoy or write about topical events. The choice of topic is yours and the possibilities are endless.

They say there is a writer in all of us and blogging allows you to become an overnight published author! As soon as you hit publish, people around the world will stumble across your blog. How many readers you get depends upon your content and how much effort you put into promoting your blog.

You can control who you allow to see your blog in terms of public, family or invited friends.

You can add pictures, videos and write about anything you choose.

You can allow or deny readers the ability to leave comments about your posts.

There are numerous Blogger communities that you can join to publicise your blog and chat online to fellow bloggers. You can even get paid for blogging! It’s kind of addictive, so don’t say you haven’t been warned.

When you get your first reader comment and you realise people around the world ARE actually reading what you write, you are hooked!

What do I write about?
Whatever you like. It could be a family blog in diary form. It could be your chance to rant about religion and politics. You could write about your hobby or share cookery tips! It really is entirely up to you. As long as you abide by the rules of the company hosting the blog you can write about what you wish.

How much does it cost?
I use Blogger.com and it doesn’t cost me a penny aside from Internet connection fee’s etc.

Meanwhile for blogger.com’s explanation of ‘what is a blog’ see HERE.

Good luck and enjoy.

I’ve been wanting to visit it for a while and wasn’t disappointed.

The sheer size of operations and seeing the technology available to them way back in the 1950’s was phenomenal.

If you’re in the UK and interested in such things, it’s a great visit.

It’s unlike a museum visit as this is the real deal!

ToyBoy, Sugar Daddy or MILF, does age matter?

In Uncategorized on 12/04/2009 at 9:04 pm

It is often the case that young men in their early twenties are attracted to older women and young women of that age range quite like the older man. Why is this? I would speculate that it has much to do with the age that men and women reach their sexual peak.

Men are supposed to peak early twenties and women early thirties so from that point of view, it makes sense that these two age ranges are suited to each other.

If it is just a sexual relationship then it can suit them both quite well. Young men preferring the older more experienced, less nervous woman and the older woman enjoying the attentions of a younger male.

But what about young women and older men? Young women may like older men for a few reasons: Wanting a father figure - someone who can be decisive, nurturing and perhaps has his own home, a business, money etc.

Being drawn to the mature male in preference to boys their own age who are perhaps a few years behind them in maturity despite being technically the same age. Money - the older male may be able to take them to places a younger male (possibly a student) may not be able to.

Why are men attracted to young women? A young female might be easier to manage than an older, wiser one, and of course the younger one may be quite glamorous and look good on his arm. A welcome ego boost and a reflection of youth forgotten.

It is interesting though that society still frowns upon older women with younger men yet it has always been fairly acceptable for younger women to date older men. Perhaps this has less to do with sexual bias though and more to do with the practical issue of reproduction. Men can remain fertile and father children pretty much until they die whereas a woman has a limit to her fertility.

So an older woman could be restrictive in terms of the younger man having his own children whereas the young woman could go on to have children with her older male partner. Have you dated a toy boy or been a sugar daddy?

How to Spot a Gold digger!

In Dating, Uncategorized on 12/04/2009 at 7:24 pm

Gold Diggers are both male and female, despite the stereotypical view that they are usually female. Women are just as likely to find a male latch onto them for their money as a man is.

Gold digging is also not restricted to heterosexual relationships. Some people love money and the trappings of success but have a lazy streak, so they would rather find a free ride than pay for their own.

The good news is that Gold diggers are not hard to spot but the bad news is that easy targets for Gold Diggers are even easier to spot!

If you have a lot of money and you are one of these people that loves and enjoys money, glittery objects and big flashy cars etc. then you are a Gold Diggers wet dream because straight away you have something in common! Your other characteristics might include generosity and a mind set that ‘you get what you pay for’.

You might be a big tipper, buy more rounds than the rest of your pals, generally throwing the money around. You do this because you are generous but also because of the attention it brings and you do like attention don’t you! So a nice ‘expensive’ bit of arm candy made not be such a bad trade off right?

Often wealthy men and women have no objection to funding their gold digging partner in exchange for their company if that person is very attractive and makes them look good. Much like the new car makes them look good.

But what happens when the money runs dry or you can nolonger keep up with a gold diggers expensive tastes and needs? Do you think they will stick around? Not likely. They will bleed you dry, accuse you of ruining their life by depriving them of their luxury lifestyle and then they will be off to find their next source of gold!

So if you fit the description above, think twice before happily acquiring an attractive partner on the understanding that you fund their entire lifestyle. The pleasant company will only last as long as the gifts and money keep coming, then the laugh will turn to a scowl.

Now we know what a Gold Diggers ideal mate is, how do those of you who have wealth and success spot a gold digger should you decide to avoid them!

It is important not to confuse a man or woman with little of their own money as a gold digger purely on the basis that they cannot afford to pay for the great dates and places that you want to go.

You will often know if your date cannot afford that lifestyle and if that’s the case and you still want to enjoy the high life with them, don’t see them as a gold digger if you need to pay. Needing to pay and being able to afford to do so is not the same as being forced to pay and then some regardless of what your date earns!

Also, someone who can’t afford to pay and is not a gold digger may suggest activities which are free and won’t suggest you go somewhere very expensive knowing full well you’ll be footing 100% of the bill.

So how do you spot a Gold Digger?

Wherever the money is, God, diggers will be in great abundance. They are not foolish and know how to find what they seek, and that won’t be in any cheap bar or club! When they visit these establishments they will be ’shopping’ and will be weighing up everyone in the place to see who might offer them the best ‘deal’ in terms of what ‘can you do for me’.

They will start as they mean to go on, by insisting you buy the drinks and suggesting places you can go and things you can buy. They will drive your credit card for you, let alone the new car they might persuade you to buy them.

If your Gold digger isn’t blatantly asking you for gifts, then they will be very huffy and quiet if not in receipt of them but their reasons will soon become clear. You might be accused of being a cheapskate, not treating them right, not appreciating them properly!

A line I heard a gold digger tell a pal of mine was ‘It costs money to look this good, and if he wants to date me, why shouldn’t he pay’. That woman was a gold digger and she got what she wanted..mainly. But when her man got into debt due to trying to fund her excessive needs, things didn’t look quiet so pretty when she was unable to cope on the reduction in living standards.

A Gold digger won’t stand by you when you hit hard times. That pretty little designer face will turn into a twisted nagging grimace and it won’t be pleasant!

If money was the lure, then when you have none or less they will be off looking for the next best thing. If you have fallen for your gold digger, that knowledge may be what spurs you on to ensure that you never do fall short of expectations, but what a hollow empty existence that is!

Do yourself a favor, find someone who loves you for you.

How to get girls to like you

In Uncategorized on 12/04/2009 at 7:18 pm

Now being female you’d think I’d have a pretty good take on this one wouldn’t you! Well I do and I don’t. Women can come across as sweet innocent and vulnerable when in reality they might be lean mean manipulating machines!

Game players extraordinaire , and therein the problem lies. While some women may show classic signs of being in love, such as being very clingy and bombarding you with an endless stream of texts/emails and phone calls, there are others who play a much more cunning game and will do the exact opposite of what you might expect from someone who is interested in you.

The game may involve, NOT being available for you, not chasing and not accommodating your every whim. This game is supposed to make it more of chase for you and thus men being men, will be more interested if there is a chase rather than it being handed to them on a plate.

Game playing aside, let’s start at the beginning. What are the subtle signs a woman likes you? Assuming you have just met, this may involve a few of the following:

* She’ll play with her hair
* Touch her neck
* Look at your lips
* Blushing of course
* Feet facing towards to you is good
* She may wish to ‘dust’ you, removing imaginary specs from your clothing or hair
* Getting jealous when other women show an interest in you
* Informing you all other women are evil and up to no good

But that said, as this is 2007, they might just blatantly approach you, tell you how they feel and then attempt to drag you back to their lair (I mean room).

Cunning females may get their friends to do the groundwork for them to see if you are interested in them too. This can involve the friend just sounding you out or some elaborate scheme to get you to confess ‘which girl in the group’ you are attracted to. There is no end to the games that women can play, with you as the prize!

Myself, I offer no such clues. I usually lose the plot when in the presence of someone I have a deep crush on. I can’t make eye contact, try to severely restrict all outward signs of attraction and as a result become monosyllabic, unanimated (aside from lots of twitching) and just become an unattractive bumbling jabbering mess.
It’s much easier talking to people you don’t like…don’t you find?

To summarise:
How to tell if a woman likes you

* She might tell you
* She might mention marriage and kids and moving in very early on (if you hear this on a speed date, move on!!)
* Wishing to take up all of your time
* Flirting with you and subtly touching you
* Getting her pals to talk to you
* Feigning disinterest (tricky one as she may genuinely BE uninterested!)
* Turning into a physical jabbering wreck when you approach

Good luck chaps!

Women and Plumbing do not mix!

In Dating Tips, Funny on 11/04/2009 at 10:43 pm

Some of you might remember my story of woe relating to my toilet disaster ‘WHy women are crap at DIY’. Meanwhile I wrote a post here recently about my latest water works disaster!

I say in that post that I will not elaborate about my boiler as it’s too painful! But now it has been resolved I feel duty bound to share this information.

So this is the situation:

No heating or hot water for two whole weeks with maybe few hrs in entire period of functionality.

No less than SEVEN engineers from TWO different companies coming out to try and find the fault and repair my faulty boiler which is by the way less than two months old!!

While waiting for these engineers to call, I missed:

  • college
  • work
  • dance class
  • coffee morning
  • kids school
  • nursery
  • swimming
  • food shopping

Not to mention blo*dy baths!!!

The repairs conducted were as follows:

  • TWO new pumps, first failed so was replaced, this failed so was replaced.
  • ONE new circuit board (just in case that was the cause of the fault)
  • A new radiator valve
  • A complete flush of the system (this alone usually costs several hundred £’s!!)

Still my boiler was NOT working properly!!

Damn boiler!!

THEN
Engineer number 7 after fitting new pump and new circuit board asked me:

“Do all your radiators have thermostatic valves?”

“Yes” I replied.

“Well they shouldn’t. One should NOT have a valve.
This is why your heating hasn’t been working”. Said the engineer.

He removed that ’spare’ valve any presto, boiler working! Two long weeks of deprivation and finally it’s working.

So readers, why was it that my rads all had a valve?

Well

When the the chap came to fit my new boiler I complained

about my

missing radiator valve.

So he kindly replaced it for me when he fitted the new boiler.

The end.

Why women are crap at D.I.Y!

In Funny on 11/04/2009 at 10:15 pm

A few weeks ago, my loo broke.

Well, that’s not strictly true.

I had a minor drip from inside the cistern (probably due to worn washer) and so I decided ‘I am WOMAN’ I will FIX IT MYSELF’.

So, I loosened a little screw thing, which released the water to make a bigger drip, an unstoppable drip in fact. I was unable to retighten the screw, it was stuck!

So, I went to my sons room, gathered some ’stuff” and fitted the ’stuff’ between the screw and thing that it needed to press against to stop the water gushing out (valve thingy).

Yahoo it worked! Toilet fixed, BY ME! 1 nil to girl power.

I spent lovely coffee morning with my pals, had some friends over, collected daughter from school, came home

It’s raining in my kitchen. The toilet cistern has overflowed, is dripping through my electric lights, onto my kitchen floor. Bathroom floor is ruined; all tiles (which I fitted myself not so very long ago) are lifting off the floor.

But I couldn’t stop the water gushing everywhere!

I did what any sane female would do and phoned first bloke I could think of i.e. my ex!

BUT, he was working and out of town, so what was I to do. I tried to locate the indoor stopcock to turn off all the water to the house, but couldn’t turn it off, as it was stiff. I remembered this tap being an issue when we fitted the kitchen 2yrs earlier. I had asked the ex to replace it! He had not so I tried to locate the outside tap to turn off the water supply. That was of course after another phone call to ex to rant about him not replacing that stiff tap!

Outside, I bravely opened the cover to the hole where the tap should be. A giant pig eating spider leapt out at me, so swiftly the cover went back down.

Nothing left to do now, but ring the emergency services!

I rang the emergency water board, to see under what circumstances they would come out and turn this tap off for me, so I didn’t have to.

It was NOT good news.

I was told I had to lie on the pavement and put my whole arm down the narrow (barely arms width) hole, as the tap was some two feet down.

It was dark in that hole! Armed with torch, plastic bag over my arm, I approached the hole. I established that it was now pig-eating spider free and then did it. Put my arm in the hole. No tap!

No tap! It was covered and submerged in dirt.

My arm wasn’t long enough to dig it out.

Several phone calls later I found out I needed a long tap turning off thingy. So, I got kids and myself together and we went to the hardware shop. They never had one, but sold me something I could use to dig out this tap.

So, it was dark now.

I had a go at digging, arm in hole. Not so bad now, as was second attempt.

Finally ex arrived at the scene! By that time though I had roped in my next-door neighbour to help find this outdoor tap. So then both of them set to, trying to dig around it so we could turn off the water to the house.

No luck, we just could not find it. I called the water board again to rant about this missing tap! They said how much it would cost for them to come out and turn the water off for me but then I’d have the problem of them coming back to turn it on again.

What to do? what to do?

I called my plumber friend (not in my area so no home visit) to see if we could somehow turn off the water some other way and he mentioned freezing the pipe.

So, the ex went under the kitchen sink to look at the stiff stop cock tap and see if the pipe could be ‘frozen’ or whatever.

“Oh!” he exclaimed

“Here’s the NEW stopcock tap I fitted when I fitted the kitchen”

And promptly turned the water off.

The moral of this story dear readers:

‘DO NOT rely on females to pass on accurate information about the presence of absence of things pertaining to plumbing!’

(It took two days after this to fix the loo - ex did it all, bless!)

Beauty Hurts - I burned my bum!

In Funny, Personal stories- naughty on 11/04/2009 at 5:47 pm

Getting in Touch with your Spiritual Penis!

In Funny on 11/04/2009 at 3:39 pm

I once started to write a self help book called ‘The Spiritual Penis’. It was going to be a self empowerment book for women teaching them how they could harness the power of the penis to help them to be more assertive and confident.

The idea being that they would visualise their own spiritual penis and adopt the male stance and presence and thereby enjoy the strength gained from embracing this symbol of masculinity.

I got so far with diagrams and tutorials and after fits of laughter trying to demonstrate how to handle ones spiritual penis gave up on the project. But I had such fun writing it.

The book was never meant to be taken seriously, it was a ’spoof’ self help book, but I just know that somewhere some woman would have been taking her spiritual penis to work with her and giving the men folk a load of jip and frightening the tea lady!

Anyway for your delight I’ve found a copy!!

Here it is:

“Getting in touch with your Spiritual Penis

Essential guide to self empowerment for women

With this book you can learn how to:

· Win friends and motivate people
· Get that job you’ve always wanted
· Achieve inner peace and calm as you thrust your spiritual penis in the face of outstanding adversity!

How to use this book
In order to benefit from all that this alternative therapy has to offer you must first master the techniques of acquiring your own spiritual penis. While later in the book we will discuss the art of sharing spiritual penis’s with others, for now you must first acquire your own. Do not be tempted to skip this part of the book and thrust ahead as you will miss the chance to master the essential visualisation techniques required to acquire your very own spiritual penis.

Spiritual penis enlightenment is NOT a quick fix. It takes weeks of practice and study to fully develop a dynamic and empowering spiritual penis that you can use to enhance your life and the lives of those around you.

Chapter One

Man and his penis
Years of observing the body language of men have taught me that not only do men have a very heightened awareness of their ‘real’ penis but that they also seem to have a ‘virtual penis’. Their virtual penis is what they describe when boasting amongst their friends about their sexual prowess and what they often lovingly refer to ‘as the beast’.

They use their real penis for comfort (replacing the childhood blanket) and of course for sexual gratification. They can enjoy many simple pleasures such as scratching, massaging and fondling. Many men choose to give their penis a name of its own and so establish it as a separate entity which in reality it is not. However as a separate entity it then acquires a ‘mind of its own’ and thus can be blamed separately for any sexual misdemeanour.

All men go through a phase in puberty when the need to establish the exact measurement of their ‘tool’ becomes an all-important ambition. They usually establish this with a ruler.

Men will also share with other men secrets of the ‘trade’ such as: ‘shaving the area at the base of the penis, makes it look bigger’.

Size is all-important to the male.

It is their status symbol; it is their ego personified. Everything male, masculine and masterful is embodied in the penis.

So how can women benefit from this information?

Women, by acquiring their own ‘tool’ (all be it spiritual) can capture the ‘power’ the ‘ego’ the ‘success’ that the confident male is able to exude. They will be able to communicate on the same level as men and beyond. After all a spiritual penis ’unlike a real one has NO limitations.

Chapter 2

Creating your spiritual penis
You will need:

Full length mirror

Setting the scene
It is important that while creating your sp for the first time, that you are in a familiar room, that is completely free from distractions. Ensure that there are likely to be no interruptions and that the room is quiet and of a comfortable temperature.

Spend a few minutes clearing your mind of the concerns and stress’s of the day, by quiet contemplation and perhaps listening to some gentle music.

Now you are ready to begin.

Fully clothed, stand erect in front of your full-length mirror.

Hands on hips, feet 1.5ft apart, thrust your weight into your groin and push it forward.

Immediately you should be able to feel a sense of empowerment as you do this. It is important then you focus on any feelings of power that energise you at this time.

Capture the sensation and visualise it as being embodied in your very own spiritual penis. As you wish to increase this sensation of power and enrichment, visualise your sp enlarging. As it enlarges so too should your feelings of self-empowerment.

Shoulders back, maintain your posture.
Focus fully on the energy that is pouring into you and flowing through you into your spiritual penis.

Maintain this posture for as long it makes you feel good.”

I should have carried on writing this right?

I got my invisaligns today and already my teeth look better - Seriously!

In Health, Invisalign Braces - my story on 09/04/2009 at 9:24 pm

What are Invisalign Braces

Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to position and straighten teeth. They are removable and mostly invisible!

I have today received my first set of Invisalign aligners, top and bottom.

I wear a new set of aligners every two weeks, each one slightly different to the rest, adjusting my teeth gradually with tiny movements.

I need to wear aligners on the top for 14months and the bottom for 6months. I can handle this knowing that I will have a Hollywood smile afterwards!

Despite what I’ve read about Invisaligns, they do not hurt at all (so far) and I can talk properly, no slurring or spitting! I actually like how they feel. Not too tight, just ‘firm’.

I’m anticipating becoming super healthy and slimmer while wearing these Invisalign braces as I can only eat and drink (other than water) when I take the Invisalign braces out. Which I need to limit and only do at meal times for maximum results.

Another mega bonus which I never expected at all, is that not only can you not see these Invisalign braces unless you are right in my face but they do make my teeth look better. You can’t see the gaps so easily which is great and the cement applied to a few of my teeth helps even the appearance so my teeth look level. So already I’m smiling broadly and loving the look!

Who’d have thought I’d say that about wearing braces. I wouldn’t be seen without them now and it’s only been a day!

For updates on my progress, subscribe to this blog and wish me luck!

Meanwhile, in case you are wondering what the Invisalign cost, mine are £3,000 and this includes all visits, fittings, adjustments, retainers and whitening. I was quoted by someone else £4,000 so it is worth shopping around, but ultimately choose a dentist you feel will give you the best results for your teeth! I’m lucky, my own dentist happens to be that person!

Shingles in Children - exploding the myths

In Uncategorized on 09/04/2009 at 11:12 am

My 5yr old boy has just been diagnosed as having Shingles.

He has two clusters of ‘red bumps’ which look very much like insect bites and itch just the same. One cluster is on his right shoulder and the other on his left buttock.

Thus, a myth exploded! The myth is that Shingles only appears on a single part on the body.

Fortunately for children, they do not experience the same debilitating and painful symptoms that adults with shingles experience. There is no outward indication of a virus other than the appearance of the itchy rash.

I have kept my son’s itching under control with prescribed aqueous callamine cream. The itching is not severe enough for an anti-histamine product.

A great resource for finding out why shingles in children occurs, how contagious it is (or rather isn’t) and how to treat it etc. can be found here:

http://www.med.umich.edu/1libr/pa/pa_shingles_hhg.htm

The source indicates that Shingles is only contagious if you make contact with the rash itself and even then only to people who have not yet contracted chicken pox. Shingles is worse for adults and can reoccur more than once. It is especially dangerous for pregnant women and as such anyone with Shingles should avoid contact.

Shingles is apparently caused by the already contracted chicken pox virus which then lies dormant in the system and reawakens (perhaps during times of low immunity, stress or ill health) as Shingles.

As stated, Shingles in children is usually without any other symptom aside from the appearance of the rash (which may leave scars) and itching. BUT if the rash is near the eyes or nose then medical attention should be sought immediately.

For adults with Shingles or adults worried about contracting Shingles,  a great source of information is here:

http://www.medinfo.co.uk/conditions/shingles.html

All the above aside, some people dispute the medical opinion re how Shingles is contracted. Some believe that the chicken pox vaccine itself is responsible for an increase of Shingles in children. I am not aware of the details of this or how valid their concerns are. Neither of my children had this vaccine and both contracted chicken pox the regular way….from their friends without any serious consequence.

Meanwhile, as to how to treat Shingles in children.

Keep them off school for 7 days is the Doctors advice (to me) and away from pregnant women and other children without their parents consent.

My Doctor also suggested it was unlikely any of the family would ‘catch’ the Shingles from my son, but said it was possible. That is despite the fact we’ve all had chicken pox and the advice on the sources suggests we cannot ‘catch’ Shingles as Shingles is a dormant virus which if it appears, it’s appears as a result of our own virus not someone elses!

I don’t know who is right, but in light of the contradictory advice, caution is recommended.

My advice is to apply cream to your child with Shingles while wearing a surgical glove or let them apply the cream themselves under your strict supervision.

Issue them with their own towel and don’t allow any sharing of towels until the virus has cleared.

Avoid cuddling you child, sharing eating appliances and definitely do not touch that rash!

These are my tips not those recommended by the medical profession, but they can’t hurt any!

Edit: After having Googled for pictures of Shingles in children I am doubting my child has shingles afterall! I think they are insect bites which may explain why they appear in more than one place on his body. But I will exercise caution in any case.

Is your copywriting lingo turning off prospects?

In Uncategorized on 07/04/2009 at 8:17 pm

I’ve been looking at a few copywriting websites lately and …

I can’t understand a word on some of them, as they are full of marketing lingo.

Does the average copywriter realise that unless the client is a marketing specialist (like themselves) they also won’t understand what the cw is talking about and hence won’t stick around to finish reading the ad?

I’m no bimbo. I’ve run businesses for myself and others since I was 19 and I learned the lingo for each of them.

But, when selling to ‘every business’ using your unique niche lingo isn’t helpful..or is it?

Surely laymans terms are better? Afterall your client is a marketing layman otherwise they wouldn’t be hiring you, am I right..or wrong?

Could this be where some confused phd, master degree cw specialists are going wrong? Is their copy too technical..too well written? Written only to be understood by fellow academics?

Beautiful writing is…..well beautiful

But let’s face it, the average Jo has never seen the Mona Lisa, so maybe you’d be better off showing them a picture of Homer?

Your thoughts…

PMT - makes you see things how they really are…or does it?

In Uncategorized on 28/03/2009 at 10:52 pm

I am declaring war against PMT, your stories and remedy’s are requested! Please do comment freely. Comments are published instantly to enhance the comment/chat experience.

Men, this post isn’t for you. What is contained herein is far too ‘real’ for your delicate eyes. Leave now while you still have the chance!

PMT, premenstrual syndrome.

That time of the month when women become warewolves and turn their lives and those around them upside down for a few days.

Hormone changes are held responsible for this ‘change’ in character and affects some women more than others. Also there remains a skeptical few who refuse to accept that the ‘condition’ pmt exists at all.

Well, if you met me, I’d soon change that notion!

I suffer from PMT for two days in very month and it really is like a destructive force wreaking havoc on my life. My thought processes become significantly altered and what was once so right seems so wrong and I set about making changes, saying things I shouldn’t say and buying shoes and clothes I will never wear!

I become a fearless force to be reckoned with and am far too bold for my own good.

Two days later of course, I revert to my happy go lucky, rational self who loves everyone and is supremely tolerant of all things, including telesalesmarketers………ok that was a lie…NOT telesalesmarketers! But you get the drift!

Anyway, I am presently not suffering from this affliction but I thought I would share these details with you as I know there are a ton of women out there who can relate, so please do.

Join me in the war against pmt and post your stories, your cures and men…as a recipient of pmt shockwaves, you too can post here.

Let the war against pmt begin….

How to tell if a man is cheating on you!

In Dating, cheating, exes, relationships on 27/03/2009 at 8:12 am

Your female intuition is telling you that your man might be cheating on you, here are some tips to help you find out if he really is!

First how to tell if he’s lying:

Ask him a direct yes/no question.
If he says ‘NO’ and there is a slight nod of the head (rather than a shake from L to R) he’s most likely lying. Similarly if he says ‘YES’ and shakes his head from side to side rather than nodding again lying. These head gestures are more indicative of the truth than the actual words. So look for a nod or a shake rather than a Yes or a No!

What happens when you accuse him of cheating?

Quite often when a man is a cheat and you confront him, his reaction will be completely over the top. He may accuse you or being completely insane and having a dirty mind. The reasoning behind this is to make YOU feel guilty for raising this issue and fearful of doing so again, and of course to make you doubt yourself.

Evidence of cheating

Have you checked his/your joint phone records- are there are long, recurrent calls?
Look at receipts, are there any unusual lunches/dinners he never mentioned to you? Or worse jewellery gift receipts and it’s not your birthday for another 6 months! When the phone rings, does he take it into the other room, even when there is no noise disturbance where you are?

Is he taking more interest in changing his underwear? Perhaps changing before he goes out and altering his habits regarding his appearance and hygiene. Is he coming home later than usual, does he smell of women’s perfume?

Is the other woman someone you know?

Is your best friend round a lot more lately when he’s home and less when he’s not?
Does your husband insist on giving her a lift home, and the journey takes longer than it should?
What is their body language like when they are together, fleeing glances, slight touches.
How does your friend react when you openly display affection to your husband? Does she look aggravated, does she make an excuse to get you to stop?

Does she seem annoyed with your husband?

These are just a few of the possible ways to tell if your man is cheating but the list goes on and on. Of course him following this pattern is no guarantee he is cheating either.

How to catch and keep a man!

In Dating Tips, Uncategorized on 26/03/2009 at 4:57 pm

Catching a man is not all that difficult; keeping him is the hard part. Here are a few of my thoughts on how to keep that man interested and coming back for more and while I’ve jested about this topic previously, what follows is the real deal ladies! Ignore this information at your peril!

First a list of dos and don’ts then explanatory notes to follow.

Don’t!

- Don’t sleep with him on first date
- Don’t take him straight home to meet your kids
- Don’t have him stay over when its just casual and your kids are around
- Don’t initiate phone calls, texts or emails. Only reply to HIS calls and NOT immediately, leave a short delay.
- Don’t talk to him about more commitment, moving in, and marriage. * Don’t tell him everything there is to know about you. Retain an air of mystery.
- Don’t self deprecate. Modesty is one thing, but confidence is very attractive, insecurity is not!

Do

- Be good entertaining witty company
- Make him a fabulous breakfast the morning after the night before
- Allow him to be his own person
- Graciously accept any gifts
- Let him know how busy and popular you are
- Take care of your appearance
- Compliment him - but be sincere. Men almost never compliment each other so a compliment means more to a man than to a female who may receive them from female pals as well as other men.

The reasons behind all this are very simple and can be summarized in one sentence and that is that men are competitive creatures. There is no competition if you hand him the prize when he hasn’t even been in a race!

A man will not put in any effort at all in wooing you if no effort is required. If you are always available when he calls, and give him sex whenever he desires, then he will see you (use you) at his convenience. He will be confident should he drop you that he can pick you up again when the mood takes him or when he’s freshly single again.

Men who date women that are literally at their beck and call take them for granted. I’ve heard male friends say it many times ’she’s not going anywhere, I can do what I like’ and worse ’she’s desperate to keep me, she’ll do anything’.

You may think that you need to let him know you’re interested to keep him interested. That is not the case. Men tend to enjoy the element of challenge involved in capturing the heart of women who seemed unattainable. Men are competitive creatures, never forget that. Let them exercise their competitive skills trying to catch and keep you rather than making it game set and match to him in the first ball game!

With regards to the kids, many men may think they don’t want a relationship (yet they want sex) with a woman with children. The way to cement that feeling is to introduce them to the children too soon. If you make it clear to any new man, he’ll not be seeing your kids till you are confident he is worthy, the competition is on! He has to prove his worthiness and when you refuse to let him see the kids, he knows he has to try harder to show you he’s a keeper. He will ask to meet the kids if he’s a keeper. Don’t ever be the first to suggest this one!

Finally, men want to feel that you are a prize, hence the need to compete for your affections, and they want to feel that they themselves are prizes. So, if you take them home too soon, they may assume you take everyman you meet home. This lowers their feeling of being a ‘prize’. If they are to feel ’special’ they need to feel that you have somehow saved yourself just for them. In today’s modern world this is not easy, but it can be achieved by simply making it clear that you don’t just date anyone, don’t just sleep with anyone and appreciate him for his ’special’ qualities. Make sure you have a list of those handy!! Now read those rules again!

NOTE: These rules should only be necessary for the first few weeks while you wait for that first call back! Once you have established a relationship and are dating, relax the rules and enjoy each others company without any strategic planning!

Anti Rape Condom - latches onto penis! RapeX

In Uncategorized on 24/03/2009 at 9:29 pm

Source

I came across this Rapex product via a blog and went hunting for the source!

Basically this is a device shaped like a condom that fits inside a woman’s vagina.
If a penis is later inserted into the vagina , the device attaches itself to the penis causing pain and once the penis is withdrawn so is the device which can then only be removed by a physician!

The site developing this product says this:

“Rapex is a new product that was developed to empower women to defend themselves against rapists. Rapex is a device used by women to prevent rape and to identify the rapist. The Rapex prototype was launched on 31 August 2005, at Kleinmond, Cape Province, South Africa.

The Rapex Team is in the process of compiling a tender document in order to source the most suitable investors/manufacturers/distributors globally. “

In other words, I don’t think this product is being distributed yet.

Is it legal, is it a good idea, what do you think?

Apparently the latest word from the science community is that our sexual preference is dictated by hormones.

What do you think?

Here are some quotes from the debate thread at blogcatalog, join in there or here!

voodooKobra

“What does it matter whether it develops in the womb or in puberty? Science has shown that there are physiological differences between heterosexuals and homosexuals, and that pretty much proves it isn’t a choice. People who claim it’s a choice are the ones who raise this question, for if it is not nature it can be changed. This is ignorant, because nurture becomes nature. Traumatic experiences can change how someone behaves years down the road, so why would nontraumatic experiences be any different?”

LynneaUrania

“I don’t know. But I know is that I could go either way. For me, is that heterosexual if I have Kleinfelter’s Syndrome and each side acts as the heterosexual opposite? I haven’t the slightest idea. Perhaps by then, what defines as “heterosexual” disappears in actual physical ambiguities.”

JoseSinclair

“Are we born greedy and self-centered, or does our society teach us this? Are we born violent, carnivorous, killers? Are we born without ethics and morals, and society has to drill them into us at church, school, court?

These things bother me more than anyone’s sexuality..

“Did the Creator create homosexuality? evil? homicide? religious persecution?”good questions.. the creator either created all the evil as well or we’re talking about a different creator..!ps - bad women have tried to turn me the other way, but I’m still into them, regardless.. men are ugly, smelly, hairy - “nine hairs short of gorillas”! as Lewis Black said.. women are mothers, sisters, lovers - soft, cuddly, warm, comforting, giving, smell nice - the big question is WHY do they like men? lol…I think, like Dr. Strangelove, we need a healthier ratio of females to men, “say 10 to 1, and they will be chosen for their breeding characteristics!” — that was just plain HILARIOUS.. a classic comedy”

Signs and Symptoms of cervical cancer and preventative measures - vaccination and coriolus mushrooms

In Health, cancer on 22/03/2009 at 7:24 pm

Check out this article about coriolus mushrooms, it’s heavy reading as is from a scientific journal as oppose to an online shop selling supplements. It’s believed that this mushroom is effective against HPV the virus responsible for cervical cancer.

www.mycologyresearch.com/newsletter.asp?idioma=uk

I’ve been taking supplements since being diagnosed 3yrs ago with severe pre-cancer of the cervix (CIN111).

I was lucky it was caught 6/12 before the abnormal cells became cancerous. The cells were removed in 3 ops ie. Leep procedure womenshealth.about.com/cs/surgery/a/leepprocedure.htm) and so far all is well and I believe it will remain so.

There is a vaccination (HPV - cervical cancer) for young women
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HPV_vaccine

In UK girls aged 12-13 can have this vaccination but I think you can get this privately if you’re older and want it - but you need to be checked to be clear of the virus first.

Symptoms of cervical cancer

Source

“Abnormal cells found on the cervix during a cervical screening test are usually at an early pre-cancer stage, and don’t cause any symptoms. Treating the abnormal cells prevents cancer developing.

If abnormal cells do develop into cervical cancer, you may have the following symptoms:

  • abnormal vaginal bleeding, for example between periods or after sex
  • smelly vaginal discharge
  • discomfort during sex
  • vaginal bleeding after the menopause

These symptoms aren’t always due to cervical cancer, but if you have them, you should visit your GP.”

Natural cure for Thrush in men and women - cure for yeast infections

In Health, Thrush, vagina on 13/03/2009 at 12:31 pm

Did you know that natural Yogurt (live/probiotic) is a good cure for thrush?

Thrush is a yeast infection caused by a bacteria called candida. Thrush can be contagious but is not a sexually transmitted disease.

In women it can cause itching in the vagina and a white cottage cheese like discharge. In men, the end of the penis can become red and sore and covered in a white discharge.

You can use Natural Yogurt to treat vaginal thrush by inserting approx one teaspoon of it into your vagina. Repeat this each night for one week. Only use unsweetened, plain, live yoghurt!

If you have oral thrush then you just eat the live yoghurt. It is the bacteria in the yogurt (lactobacillus acidophilus) that is effective at treating Thursh. It keeps the yeast levels in the body at normal levels.

Eating yoghurt regularly may also help prevent recurrent thrush infections of the vagina.

Meanwhile if you want to cure yeast infections like Thrush forever, try this HERE.

If you have one of those tongues - geographic tongues that look a little like a roadmap, then you can get rid of it using the advice of this sites author here.

My friend is a bitch - tell me your story!

In Uncategorized on 12/03/2009 at 12:36 pm

Quite often we women have a moan about one of our friends. Usually this gets less likely as we get older, but when we are young and we aren’t so discerning when picking friends we often find ourselves with friends who do not behave the way we expect friends to behave. These so called friends might put us down, bitch behind our back or stir trouble in our relationships with other people and worse they may try to steal your boyfriend.

When I was at school, I had a friend who only ever wanted to date the boys I fancied. As she was more confident in that area than me (then, not now) she went after the boys and got them. The relationships never lasted long as they quickly tired of her, but it got to the point I felt I couldn’t risk saying who I fancied as I knew the following week, I’d find them snogging behind the school shed! Anyway this was a very long time ago 25yrs+, so things have changed a lot since then.

Tell me your ‘my friend is a bitch’ stories here and I will publish them with a link back to your blog.

The Rules of friendship between women - if you’re billy no mates these rules are for you!

In Uncategorized on 12/03/2009 at 12:21 pm

No friendship is truly unconditional, they all come with a set of rules. Women have a particular set of rules for friendship with other women and if their friends break those rules then they are left out in the cold. In case you are sheila no mates - here is the list of rules.

Relationship taboos

  2. Do not date your friends ex boyfriend/husband/partner
  3. Do not flirt, date, marry your friends dad
  4. Do not flirt, date, marry your friends mom (well you never know…)

  6. Do not exchange numbers with mates boyfriends and arrange to meet up when your friend is not around
  7. Do not tell your mates boyfriend anything private about your pal

Looks Taboos

  1. Don’t tell your friend a part of her body is unattractive - if she can’t change it, that’s just cruel.
  2. Don’t tell your friend she looks great if you know she doesn’t and asks your advice. Be tactful and suggest another outfit without being unkind.
  3. Don’t copy your friends look, develop your own!
  4. Never tell your friend her bum looks big in that or that she is too fat.

Friend taboos

  1. Don’t insult your mates other friends, she likes them and will be loyal to them.
  2. Don’t bitch about your friend behind her back, it will get back to her, it always does.
  3. Don’t bombard pals with phone-calls and texts, it makes you look needy and uncool. Wait for them to call you occasionally!

Women are Superior to men because…

In Uncategorized on 10/03/2009 at 12:11 pm

The following is of course - light humour ;) and not intended to offend.

  • Find stuff
  • Multi-task
  • Have higher pain tolerancy levels
  • Don’t cry if someone passes in front to the TV when the footie is on
  • Can reach for the TV remote if not within our immediate grasp
  • Can ‘hover’ when using the loo - seat up/down irrelevant.

We are more intelligent

  • Men’s brain are 10% larger than womens BUT we have more grey matter. A whopping 5.4% more than men! Or so I’m told. I’ve seen a few varying figures on this, of course I published the female favourable ones ;)
  • We are multi-orgasmic.
  • We have periods and get away with murder for having PMT
  • We don’t fall in love with cartoon characters or game females
  • We live longer
  • We can fake it men can’t
  • We get to wear a multitude of add-ons: hair, eyelashes, bra pads, nails. Men have always liked ‘transformers’
  • We can dress ourselves

Anyone disagree?……….. No I didn’t think so :)

Gagging for it or just gagging?

In Uncategorized on 05/03/2009 at 6:49 pm

Most ladies complain about ‘gagging’ when performing oral sex on a chap, but what is worse is not gagging at all…not even a tiny splutter because the ‘organ’ is so small it doesn’t reach the back of the throat!

Despite how unpleasant the Gag experience is for women, men do tend to like hearing women gurgle, rasp and choke on their manhood. So what if after all valiant attempts at trying to take it in deeper, it barely reaches?

Faking orgasms is one thing, but faking a gag reflex is just ridiculous!

Beauty Hurts - I burned my bum!

In Funny, Personal stories- naughty on 05/03/2009 at 5:47 pm

Have you lost pay due to UK Schools closed due to snow? Claim back your lost earnings!

In Uncategorized on 06/02/2009 at 7:42 am

Schools in Dunstable, South Bedfordshire and all over the UK have been closed for nearly a full week due to snow.

Parents who have chosen to keep their children off school where the school has remained opened during this snowy patch have been told they will be marked as having an unauthorised absence.

So, what are the reasons for the closures? I was told it was due to Health and Safety reasons (as oppose to transport problems).

My personal view is that if teachers and students live within walking distance of the school, then there is no reason for schools to be closed due to snow. You wrap up warm, wear your wellies and stay indoors playtime. This is how it was when I was a child. Schools never closed due to snow.

Meanwhile, I personally have lost 4 days pay this week as I am on a temporary contract. The school I work for has been open all week!

I am claiming back (trying to) my lost pay from the school my children attend which has been closed all week and I recommend all of you who feel this is fair do the same then just maybe this situation which could be the same next week, won’t arise in future years.

I have already complained to school governors, Head of the school, the county council and my MP regarding this situation and the councils decision NOT to grit school roads!

If you would like to use the letter below to forward to your council/governors/MP, you have my full permission to do so.

“Dear………………………

The school has now been closed for ………………………… due to snow. I am uncertain as to whether the reasons for closure are that teachers cannot travel to school or health and safety reasons. Either way, I as a parent could have reached the school on foot.

I see no reason why children would be considered unsafe at school due to snow as when the conditions are icy and as such far more hazzordous, the school remains open.

I have lost £…………. pay this week due to the school closures, and as such I wish to claim reimbursement of my losses from you.

Please advise me as to the correct process for making this claim.

Yours sincerely

………………..

Parents of ……………………………………..”

Of course address the letter at the top to the school chief Governor and include your address.

I do not know whether you or I will be successful at recovering lost pay/earnings/money but there is nothing to be lost by asking and you never know we may just get somewhere.

Headlines needn’t give you frown lines

In Uncategorized on 18/01/2009 at 8:47 pm

Outsource them to a savvy headline writer like moi ;)

In case you aren’t a copywriter or marketer, the headlines I am referring to are those that grab your attention every time you find yourself lost and wondering into a blog like mine! Headlines are what tells a reader whether to linger or leave. Your content could be genius but the reader will never know if the headline isn’t persuading them to read on.

Sometimes my headlines are crystal clear to ensure that readers looking for specific content are left in no doubt that I have what they’re looking for, and other times the headlines are salacious and designed to lure you in for a guilt riddled ride of mystery and intrigue which of course you will always find in the articles content. I never wish to disappoint!

If you have a product or service and are busy dreaming up sales copy but want a headline that packs a punch then it won’t hurt you any to hire me to bat some ideas your way. I fire these things off at a rate of knots and you only pay for the ones you use, now that’s an offer you won’t get anywhere else!

Email me with details of your budget.

No offer is unreasonably refused as I like a challenge and the creative process.

When you find yourself liking or disliking someone it is because you are picking up on the vibrations that person is emanating at that given time.

The sum total of the vibrations we send out at any given time are referred to by some ancient teachings as “states” of Be-ing-ness.

People who match our “state” at any given time make us feel good about ourselves. We feel a sense of ease around them. Those people who vibrate states opposite to ours at any given time make us feel bad or uneasy. The people who reflect back to us the “positive” aspects of our “state” at any given time are fun and exciting to spend time with and those who reflect back to us the “negative” aspects of our “state” at any given time give us much anxiety, unease, pain and stress. But we may find ourselves drawn to them because we need them to focus the light on where we need growth and maturity (if we are open to the opportunity for growth and maturity).

Our physical state

This is the sum of the condition of our physical body and everything we do to our bodies: food, exercise, grooming, cigarettes, drugs, sex etc.

Our bodies also take on, in physical form, the mental beliefs and emotional wounds we hold inside (anger, fear, guilt, shame, etc.). We’ve all seen people with faces fixed into permanent scowls, it wasn’t there when they were a child, what you are seeing is a terrible picture of their inner world. The physical state or appearance of our outer body sends out vibrations that are picked up by the person tuned (positively or negatively) to a certain kind of physical state.

Our mental state

This is the sum total of all our thoughts, beliefs, judgments, values, attitudes, receptive states, goals, day to day decisions, etc.

As we grow up, our unconscious identifications of who we are, what we believe in, what we like or dislike, what we hope for, what we fear, what we want etc. are shaped by our personal experiences and environmental conditioning. We tend to seek out and attract people who will confirm to us what we already think, believe, expect or want to know more about.

For example if we believe that all men do not like to be emotionally close or all woman do not like sex, the men or women we attract will respond to our subconscious belief and expectation. They will confirm that all men do not like to be emotionally close or all woman do not like sex. Or if we think and belief that we do not deserve certain kinds of people (out of our league), we will be attracted to people who will not notice us, will reject us or treat us like crap because this is what we expect.

Our emotional state

This is the sum of all our feelings and emotions past and present. Ironically, suppressed emotions operating at a sub-conscious level have a more powerful impact on our emotional state than our expressed emotions.

If for example you were denied affection or love as a child, you may sub-consciously fear that you will never really have love in your life. This sets up a vibration of desperation, of needing or lacking love in your life. You then attract people who do not reciprocate your feelings and end up longing, pining and clinging on the slightest sign of love or affection. You become a magnet for people who are vibrating on the wavelengths that bring you more rejection, self-pity, depression, sadness, hopelessness, more pining and more clinging.

Our sexual state

This is the sum total of our ability to reconcile our sexual desires, erotic impulses, thoughts, sentiments, and verbal and non-verbal expressions with our sexual knowledge, competence or skills.

Every look we were given, every word we were told, every touch we received, and every reaction we felt about our sexuality is remembered in our subconscious minds and in our bodies. This baggage from childhood manifests itself in how we experience ourselves as sexual beings.

If for example you struggle with sexual guilt, anxiety, embarrassment, distractions and feelings of obligation you will doubt that you can sexually please the opposite sex and unconsciously or deliberately create a “distance” between you and your sexual being-ness.

Sexual distancing can come in the form of belittling or down playing your sexual expectations and trying to rationalize your “negative” state with statements like “lots of people don’t have fulfilling sex lives, so its okay”, “who cares about sex, anyway?” or ” sex is often overrated, there are more important things in a relationship” etc. Distancing can also be in the form over compensation, where you are always talking about sex in a very graphical (detached) manner, being sexually promiscuous, reckless, aggressive or violent.

Because you are operating from a ‘negative” or disowned sexual state, you will in turn attract those people who will remind you of your helplessness, guilt, sense of sexual unattractiveness or inadequacy.

Our Soul state

This is the sum total of how we see ourselves in relation to others and in relation to all life and to the universe. This state has also been referred to as our natural intuitive state, our gut feeling, our knowing, our will power, our passion, the fire within, our depth of character, our ability to live in the moment, to embrace life etc.

Our soul vibration attracts those people who reflect the balance we have achieved internally. For example if you lack inner balance or have not found your “centre”, your place of knowing and will power, you will attract into your life those people who will tend to swing wildly from one extreme of chaos to another. You will find yourself constantly thrown from someone else’s chaos to everybody else’s chaos.

Our soul vibration is also the only kind of vibration that attracts or is attracted to people and situations that do not necessarily reflect our own soul vibrations but offer us the opportunity to grow. The soul senses that a union with certain persons can bring new possibilities for it to flow freely in love, truth and bliss and is drawn to that energy. These people and situations may not always be pleasant but we are drawn or attracted to them because of the spiritual lessons we will learn, if we are conscious, willing and capable of learning.

For example if you are in a place in your life where you are searching for your truth or your authentic self, (i) you will attract other people who are searching for their own truths, or (ii) you will attract people who have already been on that path and found what you are searching for, people who will help and support you through your own journey, and (iii) other times you will attract a person or persons who will lead you down the path of pain, hurt and suffering so you can come to your own truth and authentic self.

Our spiritual state

Our spiritual state is our LOVE-centre. These vibrations emanate from the part of us that is ALL profound love and unlimited compassion, joy and intimacy.

The good news is that we ALL have this capacity within us, everyone of us regardless of where you come from, whom or what you believe in, what you’ve done or not done in the past or what you will do or not do in the future. These are the vibrations that have the power to heal, to renew, to rejuvenate, makes us feel secure, inspires us, empowers us, to bring us closer true intimacy, to ecstasy, to Truth, to the Divine and to God. The problem for many of us is that we have so much mental and emotional “stuff” that is preventing us from vibrating from that place of unlimited and unconditional LOVE.

This process of attracting people vibrating at frequencies that match your own continues throughout your life.

Generally speaking, all healthy relationships require at least some measure of physical, mental, emotional, soul and spiritual compatibility. The important thing to remember is that we can pick up these vibrations all at once or at different stages of the relationship, at brief intervals or at intermittent times. More importantly, for attraction to translate into a relationship it has to be present for both parties - not just for you alone. But when you are not vibrating at your best state, you’ll have a hard time determining whether a relationship is abusive, damaging, or will work in the long-term.

The easiest way to make sure that you attract people who vibrate at the frequency that makes you feel complete physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually (and/or sexually) is to pursue your own self development. Commit yourself to deliberately duplicating the vibrations that bring you love, joy, happiness, sexual intimacy and commitment, and whatever else brings meaning, purpose and fulfillment in your life. When someone comes along they will reflect you and you will be vibrating at your best!
